update #fail
Fail. Zero update. I have it only half written and I’m not sure where to go with it. I shall try get it up later today (Wednesday) as well as Chapter 28 (or at least a part of it) to make up for my fail.
I think I just need to do a little more careful outlining to figure out how to wrap up things properly. Maybe I am having “OMG I’m near the end” panic?
I’ll see if I can sneak in writing around stupid work. At the least I could get some bonus stuff (a new interview answer or something) up during the day. We’ll see.
Please forgive me? I promise to be back on track by this weekend!

Troubled by sticking to a more regular update schedule? You seemed pretty sporadic before and as to the ‘near the end’ panic, with another book set to follow it’s not really the ending per se – just an ending.
Ah well, keep at it & good luck! :)
I’ve been able to keep to one chapter (or part of a chapter) per week, but for some reason this “on a certain day” thing is a lot trickier to keep up with. Which is why I want to build up a buffer before I start posting anything new, so I can avoid this embarrassing fails.
Sigh. Hopefully when I move house this weekend, it’ll help me focus better. (Current place is a mess!)
Your update speed is somewhat better than this writer of Ranma 1/2 fanfics (me, fanfiction, wut?). I just powered through them in the last few days and I noted that there was a TWO YEAR gap between her latest update and the previous. >_<
I'm genuinely impressed she's still going though of course.
As for a buffer, you want to try and build that up now or try it for next Above Ground book?
Oh and, the place you're moving to a lot nicer then? Or will it end up just as messy? :D
Hey, I read fanfiction too (although not as often as I used to)! I used to be unreliable an updating fanfics too, but here I feel more honor-bound to work harder!
Hopefully I’m going to use March / time off to build up a buffer…. I may extend the break and try get a good chunk written before I start posting to make sure things run smoothly!
And, the new place is nicer. Will probably become messy, but hey! No dampness nor leaking roofs!
I generally avoid fanfiction, because it does have a tendency to fall into the sort of things Isa mentioned in your ergofiction
Café Wednesday interview (read those earlier :P). That is, smutty incest, homoerotica, serious case of bad shippage, etc. Eye bleedin’ stuff.
It must be said that this particular series of fanfics had me completely enthralled. Topping Ranma 1/2 in terms of writing quality isn’t exactly hard mind.
Dampness and leaky roofs? :/ I thought our shower smelling like bad eggs whenever somebody flushed a toilet was bad… (somebody really failed with the plumbing there)
Heh, not really ‘time off’ if you spend it writing a buffer! xD
Well, I think I’d go stir crazy not writing at all, even during time off. It’s more not having the pressure of posting to a deadline – especially with all the other deadlines I have e.g. Ergofiction (thanks for reading those articles by the way!).
But I’m also working on another serial that I’d like to start posting on here eventually (urban horror, kind of?).
And, err… when it comes to fanfiction, I have also read the eye-bleeding stuff. :-P
I usually don’t last more than a paragraph on the eye bleedery stuff, my friends read through ‘fan fiction friday’ on topless robot though -_-’
They claim morbid curiosity.
It occurs to me I’ve not read any of your other fiction, I’ll get around to it sometime soon. ^^
I also wonder about you adding more to your ‘work’ load. :P
My other fiction? There’s not much online of my other written stuff. I do want to get other stuff up on here but I’m trying to be sensible and keep my work load manageable!
