Hello all! How are you?

It’s been a while since I posted a news-y update. In fact I’d even forgotten I could post news things on this blog. So here goes!

Above Ground

We are at 18 out of an expected 55ish chapters. According to my calculations, posting will finish middle of August this year. How exciting is that? Then I’m planning to get the print and ebook version out after that, in September or October.

I’m tinkering away at a couple side stories, too. A novella about Jake and Fang, and another one about Rae. I’m considering not offering these ones for free, to help support and pay for the main story. Either way, I’ll keep you guys updated.

I was also wondering whether to give you guys the option to “buy” stories—this is all after I finish with Above Ground, of course—so that you guys can get more of the characters you like, and I can pay for stuff. Again, I’ll let you know!

Whatever happens, Above Ground and all sequels (currently planned at two) will remain free.

Those of you who’ve been around for 1 year+ have lived through the many (3?) incarnations of this website. There’s still a lot about this new layout that I don’t like, although it’s the best one yet.

I am currently considering merging qazyfiction with my main hub, amharte.com. Things just look a bit too blog-like still. Hm. Thoughts, suggestions, etc welcome.

Other stuff

Well, that was a thrilling news update, yes? I don’t have anything else to say for the moment, other than thanks for reading, and extra thanks for those who leave comments, and yes, llamas are awesome.

    Crowdfunded writing has worked well for aldersprig; hers come in ‘very short snippets’ variety.

    haikujaguar had a ‘pay to accelerate posting’ and ‘pay for extras’ methods to work. I think the first may have played some havoc with her schedule for other things.

    I suspect it works best with lots of chapters written in advance, and a large pool of avid readers who aren’t poor.

    Not sure about the merging. From a reader’s perspective, I really like the ‘this here’s the story, and here’s some other stories in this setting’ focus, since that’s what I’m here for. There should be a link to amharte.com at the top somewhere though. If it’s already there, it’s not obvious.

      Thanks for the feedback. I think I’ll keep qazyfiction as the brand for Above Ground stories—I was looking at doing something like qazyfiction.amharte.com if I did merge the two, anyhow :-)

      The “also by AM Harte” section links out to amharte.com. Guess that wasn’t obvious!
